The levels of OsVPE3 gene expression changed over time. Aleurone layers were stripped from the intact seeds imbibed for 4, 8, 12, and 16 h, and then the mRNA transcripts of OsVPE1, OsVPE2, OsVPE3, and OsVPE4 were measured. The expression of OsVPE1 in 4 h was selected as 1. Error bars represent the means ± s.d., n = 3 biological independent experiments with at least three replicates for each. Bars with different alphabets show significant different at P<0.05 by Duncan’s multiple range test
