Transverse sections of leaves were subjected to the epifluorescence microscopy. However, because of the intrinsic background noise from the epifluorescence microscopy and the low resolution of the Insight camera (CFI60, Nikon), images had to be first treated with Photoshop (CS5, Adobe) to discard the noise, which may have affected their quality (Wittmann et al. 2006; Berveiller and Damesin 2008)
