Correlations are shown between stomatal conductance and stem starch levels at anthesis (A), maturity (B), and the difference between anthesis and maturity (C) among groups whose difference in harvest index between high-HI and low-HI genotype pairs appeared to be stable (Pairs 1, 2, and 3) or drought-responsive (Pairs 5 and 6).
