RGB1 specifically functions in vascular tissue and epidermal cells (pink) in rice embryos during the early postembryogenic development stage. The development of the shoots, roots, and the embryo shoot-root axis is significantly suppressed in the rgb1 mutants and the rgb1 mutants are early postgermination lethal
