Early regulation of defense-related genes in O. sativa cv. Nipponbare roots during Meloidogyne infection. Gene expression was measured by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction in plants infested with M. graminicola at 2 DAI or with M. incognita at 6 DAI. Gene expression was normalized to Os-actin. Bars represent the log2 values of the ratio of the mean transcript levels for inoculated vs. non-inoculated plants from two technical replicates. Two independent biological replicates were carried out, with 90 plants per condition.
