Expression profiles of senescence-associated genes in naturally senescing flag leaves. The middle parts of the flag leaves were harvested from the rice plants grown under natural long-day conditions in the paddy field at the indicated DAH and were used for RT-qPCR analysis. The expression levels of each gene were normalized to that of GAPDH, an internal control. The values presented are the means of four biological replicates, with each replicate consisting of five independent flag leaves, and the error bars indicate the standard deviations. Significance of differences between means was analyzed by the two-tailed Student’s t-test (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, and ***P < 0.001).
